International Women’s Day is very special at PIRS! Celebrated around the world on March 8th, it is a day where women’s special and considerable contributions to society are honored and celebrated.
Our decentralized program model means that our classes and students are spread across Metro Vancouver and rarely have a chance to meet, learn and celebrate together.
PIRS takes the opportunity of International Women’s Day to have our participants, volunteers, members and staff gather to celebrate women’s, and their own, considerable accomplishments. The PIRS International Women’s Day celebration is therefore a significant opportunity for the PIRS team and participants to meet new friends from different programs, catch up with an old ones, enjoying performances by our talented volunteers!
2011 International Women’s Day was celebrated with program partners at Mt. Pleasant Neighbourhood House in East Vancouver. As always, the event reflected the richness of our diversity. Food. Dance. Cultural Displays.
