PIRS has helped thousands of women from around the globe to gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to feel at home in Canada and to participate actively in Canadian society.
Fundamental to these new skills is learning English. PIRS offers a variety levels of English instruction across Metro Vancouver. Some of our classes are government-sponsored English Language Services for Adults (ELSA) but the majority of our programs are community-based, offered in partnership with School Boards, Community Centers, and Neighborhood Houses in Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster.
Our program schedule is based on the school year and runs in three terms – fall, winter and Spring. We feature continuous intake however, so call or email us for more information to start a class at any time. Participants may also register by simply going to the location at the appropriate class time.
Most classes charge a $20 fee per term, with subsidy available. Transportation subsidies may also be applied for. Childcare is available, please check our Children’s Program page.
