SUMMARY:Food Hub - Burnaby
DESCRIPTION:Food Hub – Burnaby Location\nPacific Immigrant Resources Society (PIRS) has identified that access to food is one of the top 5 basic needs in the immigrant and refugee communities. The COVID-19 crisis has affected a majority of newcomer families\, with over 50% reporting loss of income\, as well financial and housing instability. In collaboration with donors\, PIRS has started two community-based food hubs to help immigrant and refugee families struggling with food insecurity. The two locations are at South Vancouver Family Place and Journey Home in Burnaby\, where a majority of our clients are based\, and families can either pick up bags from the hub or are delivered the bags.
