PIRS now provides multicultural HIPPY Program

We are pleased to announce that the the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program is now being offered by the PIRS. The HIPPY program is a home-based education program that teaches parents to be their preschool children’s first teacher and prepare their 3-5 year olds for school. The program has been in action in Australia, New Zealand and Eastern Canada for a number of years and has demonstrated significant success in supporting vulnerable parents.

We are currently working with MOSAIC to train our Peer Home Visitors. MOSAIC was the first provider of multicultural HIPPY program in BC and also the HIPPY Training Hub. PIRS will have four Peer Home Visitors, a Senior and three Juniors, speaking Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog, Punjabi as well as English.

For those who are interested, please call Lupita at 604-298-5888 or email at lboris@pirs.bc.ca.
