Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, when participants will take the stage to share powerful personal stories through this inspiring program.

An unforgettable storytelling experience about courage, resilience and connection.

The Shoe Project is a unique experience that brings to the stage a group of immigrant and refugee women, sharing the journeys that brought them to Canada—each story anchored in a pair of shoes that represents moments of resilience, hope, and new beginnings.

Through live storytelling, audiences are invited into deeply personal experiences of migration, identity, courage, and belonging.

Featuring women from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Syria, Uzbekistan, Mexico, Vietnam, and more, these powerful performances offer a rare opportunity to connect with stories that inspire, challenge perspectives, and remind us of our shared humanity.

Presented by Pacific Immigrant Resources Society in collaboration with YWCA BC, The Shoe Project invites us not just to listen, but to understand, to connect, and to be part of something bigger. More than a performance, it is an experience that stays with you long after the evening ends.
