Occupation-specific FREE English training program for women interested in working in the early learning and childcare field
January 3 2023 – March 31 2023
9:15 – 3:00 (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri)
Mondays and Fridays at 7485 Salisbury Avenue (childminding and transit tickets provided)
Tuesdays and Thursday – online
– Occupation-specific language classes
– Trauma-informed approaches to early learning
– Responsible Adult, First Aid, food Safe Certificate Training
– Essential and digital skills improvement
– Employment counseling and career exploration
– Work transition skills training
– Paid work experience (4 weeks)
– Connection to work opportunities in the field
– Transportation costs and childminding provided for in-person sessions
– Supportive and friendly learning environment
Eligibility Criteria
– Women who are permanent residents, convention refugees or protected persons
– CLB 5 or equivalent in English (online assessment will be provided)
– Able to attend all program sessions
