Who We Serve

PIRS welcomes all immigrant and refugee women and their young children, regardless of immigration status or English proficiency.

Last year, PIRS served 942 women and 374 children across 22 programs. The majority of our participants were racialized, coming from 42 countries of origin and speaking 23 different languages. 73% came to Canada as refugees.

We assist our program participants to break through language barriers, access information, meet material needs, and overcome social isolation. Our services are low-barrier, culturally relevant, and trauma-informed.
