Overview
The Safe Haven Program is part of the BC Services and Assistance For Humanitarian and Vulnerable Newcomers.
We welcome newcomer women who are asylum seekers or refugee claimants. We are here to help you adjust to your new life in Canada.
Why join

- Finding the right community resources, services, and programs, including language classes, housing, employment, food assistance, legal aid, counselling and more
- Community English Classes for Women in New Westminster and Surrey
- Confidential conversations about difficult topics
- Employment support

We speak English, Spanish (Español), Cantonese (廣東話), Mandarin (普通話), Dari (فارسی دری), Farsi (فارسی), Pashto (پښتو), Arabic (اَلْعَرَبِيَّةُ), Ukrainian (Украї́нська мо́ва) and Russian (Русский язык). We are happy to support you in your preferred language.
Who it’s for
This program is for newcomer women who are
- Refugee Claimants (those who have made a claim for protection)
- Asylum Seekers (those who have not yet made a claim for protection)
