Overview
FREE 10 week Employment Training Program for women to develop job-specific skills for careers in early learning and childcare.
The Pathways to Childcare Careers Program prepares newcomer women for employment in licensed child care settings and offers a pathway into a meaningful career in the child care field.
Why join
Our Pathways to Childcare Careers Program provides:
- Certification: Responsible Adult, Child Care First Aid and FoodSafe Certificates
- Work Experience: 80 hours in a licensed childcare center
- Occupational English: Classes are tailored to the specialized language and vocabulary used in the child care field
- Skills: Develop and improve pre-employment and digital skills
- Knowledge: Understand early childhood milestones and trauma-informed approaches to early learning. Access information and resources to secure employment in the childcare industry.
- Career Guidance: Access to one-on-one employment counselling that supports with interview preparedness, resume writing and employment opportunities
- Support: Transportation tickets and childminding for in-person sessions

Who it’s for
This program is for women that are:
- Permanent Residents (PR) or Protected Persons
- CLB 5 or equivalent in English (proof required)
- Committed to attend the entire 10 week program
- Have basic computer skills
How to apply
